Un supermarché Carrefour bloqué à Athènes en solidarité avec la résistance en France

A 13 heures aujourd’hui, samedi 6 novem­bre, une cen­taine d’anar­chis­tes ont bloqué l’entrée prin­ci­pale de l’un des plus grands super­mar­chés du groupe fran­çais Carrefour durant envi­ron deux heures à Athènes (Grèce). Avec de larges ban­de­ro­les de soli­da­rité avec celles et ceux qui se révol­tent en France, le groupe a bloqué l’entrée des client-es en dis­tri­buant des tracts et textes pré­sen­tant la grève qui a éclaté en France pen­dant plus de deux semai­nes, cau­sant des dys­fonc­tion­ne­ments économiques majeurs à tra­vers des blo­ca­ges et grèves mas­sifs, ainsi que des émeutes et sabo­ta­ges. Les textes ont été dis­tri­bué dans le maga­sin et aux tra­vailleur-se-s.

Les client-es n’ont pas pu entrer dans le Carrefour et le groupe est resté devant les portes en scan­dant « la Solidarité est l’arme du peuple, fai­sons la guerre aux guer­res des puis­sants ». Sur les ban­niè­res, on pou­vait lire : « Grève, Blocage, Sabotage. Résistance par­tout ! » et « Solidarité avec celles et ceux qui se révol­tent en France », et les anar­chis­tes ont pu dis­cu­ter avec des pas­sant-es et des client-es poten­tiel-les, dont beau­coup affir­maient leur sou­tien à l’action.

Les anar­chis­tes ont ensuite déam­bulé dans une rue mar­chande, scan­dant des slo­gans anti-capi­ta­lis­tes et dis­tri­buant encore de l’infor­ma­tion, reçue cha­leu­reu­se­ment et avec le sou­rire.

(En France, pen­dant la grève géné­rale, plu­sieurs blo­ca­ges simi­lai­res ont eu lieu dans des Carrefour, contri­buant au blo­cage économique, tout comme des actions de réap­pro­pria­tion où les pro­duits récu­pé­rés dans un Carrefour étaient redis­tri­bués dans des mani­fes­ta­tions.)

Inspiré-es par la révolte débu­tée en octo­bre en France, les anar­chis­tes d’Athènes ont voulu mon­trer leur soli­da­rité en contri­buant, même à petite échelle, à la per­tur­ba­tion de l’économie fran­çaise.

Cela s’est fait dans un contexte ou le gou­ver­ne­ment socia­liste grec appli­que des mesu­res d’aus­té­rité et où un-e jeune sur trois est sans emploi alors que les prix s’envo­lent. Toutefois, les anar­chis­tes ne veu­lent pas réfor­mer l’économie capi­ta­liste ou un gou­ver­ne­ment plus com­pré­hen­sif, mais la totale des­truc­tion du sys­tème, de la Grèce à la France, et tou­jours à tra­vers la soli­da­rité dans la lutte.

At one o’clock this after­noon, Saturday, November 6th, approxi­ma­tely one-hun­dred anar­chists blo­cka­ded the front entran­ces of one of the lar­gest french-owned Carrefour super­mar­kets for nearly two hours here in Athens, Greece. With large ban­ners decla­ring soli­da­rity with those revol­ting in France, the group pre­ven­ted shop­pers from ente­ring the fran­chise Carrefour, while dis­tri­bu­ting flyers and texts out­li­ning the strug­gle that emer­ged in France over two weeks, cau­sing major eco­no­mic dis­rup­tions through mas­sive blo­cka­des and stri­kes, as well as rio­ting and sabo­tage. The texts were dis­tri­bu­ted inside the store and to the wor­kers.

Shoppers were not allo­wed to enter the Carrefour and the group main­ta­ned a pre­sence out­side the doors, chan­ting- “Solidarity is the weapon of the people, make war to the war of the bosses”. In front of ban­ners that read “Strike, Blockade, Sabotage- Resistance Everywhere !” and “Solidarity for those who revolt in France, ” anar­chists had conver­sa­tions with pas­ser­bys and poten­tial shop­pers, many of whom expres­sed their agree­ment with the action.

Afterwards, the anar­chists mar­ched toge­ther through a nearby street market, chan­ting anti-capi­ta­list slo­gans and dis­tru­bu­ting more infor­ma­tion. There they were gree­ted warmly and with smiles.

(In France, during the gene­ral strike, there were scat­te­red reports about simi­lar blo­cka­des of Carrefour super­mar­kets hap­pe­ning in order to contri­bute to the eco­no­mic blo­ckade there, as well as a reap­pro­pria­tion action where a car­re­four was looted and the pro­ducts were dis­tri­bu­ted in a wor­kers march.)

Inspired by the revolt that began to emerge in October in France, anar­chists in Athens deci­ded to make a show of soli­da­rity while contri­bu­ting, in any small way, to a dis­rup­tion of French eco­nomy. This comes in the context where Greece’s socia­list govern­ment is pas­sing aus­te­rity mea­su­res and one out of three youth are unem­ployed while prices are soa­ring. However, anar­chists are not cal­ling for a refor­med capi­ta­list eco­nomy or a more sen­si­tive govern­ment, but a total des­truc­tion of the system, from Greece to France, and, always, through soli­da­rity in the strug­gle.
